Jesus at the center

Have you ever considered what it must have been like for Jesus to often be alone on His journey as He healed and helped to restore countless lives. We often hear of the disciples following Jesus, but do we really know the heart of Jesus and His perspective as He knew His destiny awaited Him on the cross? Have we ever thought to imagine how often He must have gone to God to see if there was another way for our sins to be forgiven and if there was an opportunity that didn't involve being placed on the cross.

Jesus can understand our many questions and doubts as we often look at our situations in a way that would leave us on the brink of giving up. I have dealt with those moments of wanting to give up especially when God is so silent. It is a heavy burden to carry when you have lived a very isolated life. Many of us are in isolation intentionally because God wants us to put Him at the forefront of our lives and not depend on people.

It is common for God's children to leave Him and forsake Him for other Gods. It must hurt God's heart dearly to know that every time His people need Him, He responded and rescued them only for them to betray Him time and time again.

Have you ever been betrayed? Have you ever questioned God and why He was allowing your life to go in the direction that it was going? Have you ever felt like giving up or have gone to God hoping that there is another way to get out of the mess you're in?

Oftentimes the issues are in the workplace, or in our own household. The enemy wants you to think your problems are bigger than God. But we know according to John 8:44 that the devil is a liar, and Revelations 12:10 says the devil is the accuser of the brethren. When those intrusive thoughts come trickling in remind the enemy of God's word and you continue to stand your ground against the opposition.

I know I have sought God in some the darkest times of my life and I'm here to remind you that trouble does not last always, and joy will come in the morning, but you must not lose hope and lose sight of the many promises of God. It's imperative to keep scripture around your house, on your mirrors, in your car and even in your pocket. I have heard of people putting scripture in their shoes so as they walk and tread throughout life the word of God goes with them.

Today I want you to reflect on all that God has done for you and to remind God of His promises to you. Keep Jesus at the center of it all and know that you are not alone, and you are not suffering in vain. God has a purpose for the pain.

Bible verse reflection:

Galatians 6:9

NIV

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

God bless you!
